Dive 23

Ras Um Sidd to 15.5 m

My first night dive. After a thorough briefing by Craig hit the water just after 9 pm. Tony Fentham kindly lent me his spare torch. At first the reef looked much the same as it did during the day but darker. However we soon started seeing different things: large wrasse sleeping hidden in the coral (how did they get in there?), lots of luminous dots, some of which were shrimps' eyes, and feathery starfish.

Being encased in warm, dark water was very therapeutic, although sometimes we got a bit mixed up with signals in the dark.
